Cymar was formed in 2024 by the merger of five charities:
Crynwyr Cymru - Quakers in Wales (CCQW) and North Wales, Mid Wales, South Wales and Southern Marches Area Quaker Meetings.
The main object of Cymar is the furtherance of the general religious and charitable purposes of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers) in Britain.
Cymar (pronounced KUM-ar) is a Welsh word meaning "mate" or "partner", echoing our commitment to working with Friends, in partnership, not just for them.

Crynwyr Cymru – Quakers in Wales (CCQW) a Chrynwyr gogledd, canolbarth a de Cymru, a’r gororau deheuol.
Prif amcan Cymar yw hyrwyddo dibenion crefyddol ac elusennol cyffredinol Cymdeithas Grefyddol y Cyfeillion (Crynwyr) ym Mhrydain.
Mae Cymar hefyd yn golygu “cydymaith” neu “bartner”, sy’n adleisio ein hymrwymiad i weithio gyda chyfeillion, mewn partneriaeth, nid dim ond ar eu cyfer.
